Quick Facts :: Growing Tips

Description:

18” x 15” wide, (seed propagated). Arizona Columbine is a new favorite around the greenhouse, as co-workers and customers alike have been impressed with the profusion of small bright orange-yellow flowers on the plants in the trial garden and seed beds. The amount of orange in the outer petals is variable. Even the dry, hot summer weather didn’t shorten the 3 month blooming season. Like Golden Spur Columbine, Arizona Columbine comes down from the mountains into the middle elevations of Coconino Co. in north central Arizona and is more amenable to non-mountain climates. Shade is a must in hot desert climates. Zones 5-8.

Special Notes:

Plant with Kniphofia and Zauschneria for textural contrast!
