Ajuga reptans ‘Pink Lightning’ (Bugleweed) is a hardworking groundcover that will keep your shade to part shade garden green year around. After spring blooms, simply shear off spent blooms with a string trimmer to keep your groundcover tidy. Ajuga needs average to moist soil conditions – the more you water, the faster it spreads, and will do well in well-drained fertile soil. Deer and rabbit-resistant, this striking groundcover is also ideal for small spaces, rock gardens, and containers. Native to Eurasia, Ajuga is a hardy plant that will naturalize when happy, creating a true carpet of spring color.
