"Planted in a bed bordering a ramped walkway it is just about taking over, lol"
"I've purchased After Midnight many times. When I moved to my new home, I brought some which had been in pots and planted them in my small front yard, replacing grass. The 3-yr-old plants are still adorned with bright magenta, fragrant lavender. The picture shows one of these, surrounded by a dozen new ones planted last spring. They were only a few inches when planted and we had brutal weather just after, cold then 110 degrees, but they did produce pretty lavender which lasted for a few months. I tried to get a picture of the many deer eating the weeds just beside them and leaving them completely alone!"
"I am adding many plants that will benefit pollinators. This lavender was in the ground less than 3 weeks and already has flower buds. Very exciting. The plants arrived with an amazingly developed root system."
"I placed these in my perennial bed in front of my house. This is the first year and they are growing well. I have kept them well watered because we have had some hot weather. I'm in Middle Tennessee. Next year, I expect them to be much larger than this year."
Plants in the FlowerKisser series have been selected by High Country Gardens Founder David Salman. These new perennial introductions are particularly nectar-rich and attract many pollinators, including honey bees, native bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The name “flower-kisser” is the translation of “beja-flor,”the Portuguese word for hummingbird!
